| Latest News Oct. 31 2008 - In the works for a new album Well it's official, Mike Larock and the band are in the making of a new album. But this time in French. Over the year "2008" with the last release of Mike Larock's album "The way" we received a lot of requests for a French album from the French Quebec fans. Since Mike is perfectly bilingual "French/English" and can sing as well in both languages, Mike and the band made the final decision that they will take several months to compose and record the album that should see the light before summer 2009. Mike already had a few original composed French songs such as a hit that still plays to this day at the famous bar "La boite a chanson" in Gatineau, Quebec called "Ton coeur est le mien". The album will be composed of 12 original French songs keeping the unique "Mike Larock" touch meaning that every song will have its own style. No 2 songs should sound the same. It is also known that the whole band will be composing both lyrics and music to this album. Plus, expect to see a couple of big names that wil contribute to this album such as Juno and Felix award winning Martin Bedar and more but that will remain a surprise for now. In other news, Mike Larock has decided to change the name to "The Mike Larock Band". A new website is also in the works for the new "Band" the link to that website will remain www.mikelarock.com but you will also be able to type www.mikelarockband.com. Both links will always work and will be available in both French and English. All the info already on this present website will stay the same only the name and the look will change including new photos, videos and music of the Mike Larock Band. You can also expect a lot of new features on the website. Sept. 26 2008 - Governor General Michaëlle Jean Mike Larock and the band had the honor of playing a live music show for her Excellency the Right Honorable Michaëlle Jean on September 26th 2008. The band was ecstatic and proudly accepted when they were offered to play for her Excellency and we are also proud to say the show was a complete success. Everyone who attended the special and private event including her Excellency had a great time listening and watching the Mike Larock Band perform one of the most important shows in their careers. Mike and the band would like to thanks Camille Lapalme for suggesting the band for this special event. And most of all Mike and the Band want to thank her Excellency the Right Honorable Michaëlle Jean for her kind words and generous and also precious time with the band after the show.
